5 SF views you didn’t know about

1. Pemberton Stairs. Tucked away snugly amidst the rolling hills by Twin Peaks. These magical steps span two streets, treating you to stunning views of Corona Height Park and downtown as you make your descent from Crown Terrace.

As you wander down, keep your eyes peeled for the whimsical archway draped in lush greenery. And don't forget to pause when you stumble upon the peculiar circle on the ground. Step inside and let your voice take center stage in a delightful echo chamber just for you.

Continue your journey until you reach Clayton St, where you'll realize the true treasures hiding behind these ordinary walls. So, come on over and let Pemberton Stairs sprinkle a dash of fun into your day!

2. Laidley St. Glen Park, a neighborhood often overlooked by tourists but cherished by locals for its quaint charm. Tucked away from the bustling crowds, this village-like enclave boasts some of the city's best-kept secrets, including one of my personal favorite views.

Meander through the steep, winding streets that seem to have a mind of their own, inviting you to wander and explore without a care in the world. Leave Google maps behind and embrace the thrill of discovery as you stumble upon hidden alleys, secret gardens bursting with colorful blooms, and charming cottage-like houses at every turn.

Make sure to stroll down Laidley St, a particular favorite of mine, especially the stretch near Billy Goat Hill Park. Here, you'll be treated to not one, not two, but three unique vantage points offering breathtaking vistas of the city skyline. Snap a photo from the intersection of Laidley St. and Harper St. to capture the magic of Glen Park in all its unassuming glory.

3. Diamond Heights. This charming hill marks the boundary where the summer fog gracefully dissipates, giving way to breathtaking views and invigorating winds that might just take your breath away.

For the perfect photo op, head to Diamond Heights Blvd, near Carnelian Way, where you'll find yourself peering through a fence to capture the stunning vista beyond. Alternatively, Clipper St offers a fantastic view, but beware of its bustling traffic, which might make snagging that perfect shot a bit tricky.

For an unforgettable experience, set your alarm early and witness the magic of sunrise painting the sky with vibrant hues, casting Diamond Heights in a golden glow that's simply mesmerizing.

4. Billy Goat Hill Park. Once a grazing ground for goats, now transformed into a breathtaking park with panoramic views of downtown, Bernal Heights, and the iconic Sutro Tower - welcome to my favorite spot in the city! Perched atop these historic stairs, you'll be treated to a vista that never fails to awe and inspire.

Take a moment to soak in the scenery, framed perfectly by the city skyline, and capture the magic with a photo just like the one above. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this hidden gem promises an unforgettable experience that's sure to leave a lasting impression.

5. Romain Street. Forget the typical tourist views – here, it's all about the unexpected delights waiting to be discovered around every corner.

As you wander along Corbett Ave and find yourself on Romain Street, pause at the top and behold the breathtaking vista that unfolds before you. Let the cityscape stretch out in front of you, a unique perspective that captures the essence of this vibrant neighborhood.

Once you've soaked in the sights, continue your adventure by descending the Glendale St. stairs or following Romain St. across a bridge into the charming Eureka Valley neighborhood. Whether you choose to meander down hidden stairways or cross over into a new district, you're sure to uncover a wealth of hidden gems and unforgettable moments along the way.
